“Duke’s charming castle in middle of nature”
Reviewed 1 March 2013
Authentic castle experience. Fabulous location in little village next to a huge forest. A little hard to find. The hotel is split into three separate buildings, quite different like three different hotels. Stayed in the old castle where rooms are modernised but still have a lot of ancient atmosphere, well equipped with comfy beds and nice views. 15 min walk to nearby lake.
Lounge areas of the castle are impressive and comfortable with an ancient and magic touch. In neighboring building is a nice, clean, modernised and well maintained pool area. The modern annexes appeared not very attractive but they are probably comfortable.
Breakfast large selection, good quality. However, breakfast restaurant not very cosy and more space is needed around the buffet as it gets crowded during weekends.
Front desk service and breakfast service friendly but not particularly professional. Extra bed expensive compared to comfort, but otherwise good value for money.
